O Desafio
El Cubo is not a rented theater: Jorge Vidoletti — playwright, director and master builder — designed and raised it in 2005 on pasaje Zelaya, the Abasto block with more theaters per metre than any other in Buenos Aires. Every architectural decision chases the same goal: dissolving the fourth wall so the 205 fixed seats (280 with the movable ones) breathe with the stage. "Architecture rules," Vidoletti wrote. But ticket sales contradicted the manifesto: they lived on Plateanet, a third-party platform with someone else's brand, a seat map that wasn't his room, and the audience — the one his architecture pulls closer — sitting in somebody else's database. The only wall still standing was the digital one.
A Solução
At teatroelcubo.com.ar the venue rules on the internet too: its own domain, logo, tickets and mailing. The 3D reserved-seating map reproduces the room exactly as Vidoletti conceived it — and since the movable seats change the layout from show to show, the map is rebuilt with them: the audience picks their real seat in the real room. AI marketing works a database that now belongs to the theater: campaigns by genre and by play, cart recovery, promotions for the shows that need a push. And the conversation with the audience — the venue's founding obsession — no longer ends when the curtain falls: an AI agent answers 96% of enquiries at any hour and escalates the rest to the team. Since then, sales have grown 42%.
